Join KSU TAB, EPA Region 7, and federal agencies such as HUD and USDA, to learn about the fundamentals of applying for federal grants and hear tips and tricks from successful grantees.

What to expect:
- Nuts and bolts of writing a federal grant application: attendees will learn how to address key grant application components, such as community needs and goals, budget, community engagement and partnerships, and measuring results.
- A demonstration of EPA’s EJScreen Tool and the Climate and Economic Justice Screening Tool.
- Successful grantees of some of the grant programs will share tips and insights for writing a good grant proposal and how to overcome application obstacles.
- Quick overview of competitive grant programs such as: EPAs Environmental Education, Environmental Justice, Brownfields, and Job Training grants with special emphasis on how to address environmental justice, as well as USDA-Rural Development, HUD, and others.
- Hear from KSU TAB and the Heartland Environmental Justice Center about their programs and how they can assist in grant writing.
Who Should Attend: Local, Tribal, and regional government officials, economic development and/or regional planning organizations, not-for-profit, economic and community-based organizations, and others interested in financial resources for community revitalization.
